Fifth Grade Writes Bill of Rights

The fifth grade class has begun to delve into the early days of the United States.

Throughout the reading we have been looking into the Revolutionary War and how this major event in our history has helped form the United States that we know today.

This includes some of the manuscripts that helped to meld our Nation. One such text is the Bill of Rights and the different reflections of the times that can be found throughout its verses.

Over the next weeks the fifth graders will form their own Bill of Rights as a reflection of their values and the community that has been founded within the classroom. They will begin to understand the importance of words and the power that they can wield when they work together.
